Image to video on your own graphics card.
Drop in a still, say what should happen, and your PC makes a five-second clip. It runs on the card most people already have: 8 GB, NVIDIA or AMD. No cloud, no per-clip price, and nothing leaves your computer. Queue up a batch before bed and wake up to a folder of takes.
Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. The trial makes unlimited 480p clips with a small mark in the corner.
What it does
The desktop app runs Wan 2.2, an open image-to-video model, cut down to four steps and packed to fit ordinary gaming cards. Then it tidies the result up for you.
HD finish
Each clip is sharpened to 1080p with Real-ESRGAN, frame by frame. Edges and fine texture come out clean instead of soft. It adds about half a minute.
Batches
Write one prompt per line and ask for up to four takes of each. The app makes them one after another, up to 16 in a go, and every clip lands in your Videos folder.
Private
Images and clips never leave your PC. The app only goes online to download its engine and model once, and to check your licence key.

A five-second clip takes about eight minutes on a Radeon RX 7800 XT, HD finish included. 720p clips need a card with 12 GB or more. The app checks your card when it opens and tells you plainly if it can't run it. If yours isn't on the list, Phoenix Motion online makes clips on our GPUs, from $0.59 each, with sound.

Install
An 87 MB installer. No admin rights needed.

First run
The app sets itself up for your card: the right engine for NVIDIA or AMD, then the model, about 26 GB in all. If the download stops, it picks up where it left off.

Make clips
Drop an image, write what should happen, press Make. Keep the ones you like; the app keeps a gallery of the rest.

Try it first
The free trial isn't time-limited. It makes as many 480p clips as you like with a small mark in the corner, so you can see what your own card can do before paying.
Desktop or online?
The desktop app is for making a lot of clips without watching a balance. Phoenix Motion online is faster (under a minute a clip), adds sound, and needs no graphics card, at $0.59 to $0.99 a clip. Plenty of people use both.
After two years
The app goes back to the trial's limits. Everything you made stays yours, unmarked. Buy another two years if you want to keep going.
Download
Windows may show a SmartScreen notice the first time you run the installer, because it's new and not yet widely downloaded. Click More info, then Run anyway.
Questions
Which graphics cards does it run on?
NVIDIA RTX 30-series or newer with 8 GB of memory or more, and AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT, 7800 XT, the RX 7900 series, RX 9060 XT and the RX 9070 series. It also needs 16 GB of system memory and Windows 10 or 11. Older NVIDIA cards (GTX, RTX 20) and the RX 7600 and RX 6000 series aren't supported yet.
How long does a clip take?
About eight minutes for a five-second clip on a Radeon RX 7800 XT, including the half minute the HD finish adds. The app makes clips one after another, so you can queue a batch and walk away.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Your images and clips stay on your PC. The app goes online to download its engine and model on first run, and to check your licence key.
Do desktop clips have sound?
Not yet. The desktop engine makes the picture only. Phoenix Motion online makes sound in the same pass.
What can I make?
The same as online: action, horror, the weird stuff. The one thing it won't make is sexual content, and nothing suggestive involving anyone who looks under 18. The desktop app checks that too.
Can I use the clips commercially?
Yes. The model (Wan 2.2) and the speed-up that makes it four steps are both Apache 2.0, which claims no rights in what you make.
What happens after two years?
The app goes back to the free trial's limits: 480p clips with a small mark in the corner. Clips you already made stay yours, unmarked. Buy another two years to lift the limits again.
Can I move it to a new PC?
Yes. In the app's Settings, release this PC, then enter your key on the new one.
A clip came out hazy or odd. Why?
Image-to-video models sometimes drift or fade in the middle of a take, even at full precision. Make another take: the "Takes of each prompt" option makes up to four at once so you can keep the best.
